PRESS RELEASE: Attorney Thomas DeVore filed a Motion to Reconsider in the Assault Weapons ban case. DeVore provided the court with sworn affidavits that Governor Pritzker’s politically appointed prison wardens are NOT trained in the banned weapons even while proclaiming at times to the Effingham County Court and the Illinois Supreme Court that Defendants have received specialized training with these banned weapons.
Of the named plaintiffs in the case, over 570 are retired military, many with special forces training. Yet somehow, the Court is supposed to believe that a group of political appointees as prison wardens, who have no documented training on the “banned weapons,” are in any way more well-trained than these soldiers, especially special forces soldiers, some of whom have served nine tours overseas.
